Before They Erase Us

Abu is a cultural revivalist and a muslim man living in North India where prejudiced sentiments are a constantly simmering undercurrent. In an attempt to reclaim his people's narrative, Abu organises heritage walks in Old Delhi– a systematically ghettoized city that was once the thriving capital of the Mughal Empire.

The film moves gently through the rhythms of Abu’s life and Old Delhi, revealing how deeply ingrained stereotypes contrast with everyday reality. Garland makers and newspaper sellers carry on with quiet normalcy—far removed from the image of the “extremist Muslim” we are conditioned to expect. In an age of visual overstimulation, the film instead offers a meditative pace, inviting viewers to watch, listen and feel rather than be overwhelmed.
